Blog Me Cash caught up with Etienne Teo, a prolific blogger from Singapore. Etienne talks to us about his blogging experiences in this brief interview.
Hello Etienne, and welcome to BlogMeCash.com. Etienne, could you tell us a bit about yourself?
Hi there Satish. It will be my pleasure to tell you who is behind the dot com. My name is Etienne Teo, 24 years old, born in Singapore. I live with my family right now and currently living a blogger’s life at home.
My daily routine is pretty much similar to many other bloggers. I will publish my article in the morning and do some researching on new crunch or rambles and read other blogs to find interesting posts.
I will post my second article in the night and I will go back to my bed and sleep, so that the next day arrives and the routine carries on. Anyway that’s about me. I pretty much live my life in my cozy room!
What made you take up blogging?
Actually in 2004, I had a dream to start up a fire-sales website by some gurus who inspired me at that time, but I realized I suck at certain coding. The software at that time was priced at $97 bucks, which was too expensive for me and so I gave up. But then again, I was looking for a place on the internet where I could start earning revenue. This took me sometime before I came across “BLOG”.
I started off with a personal blog, you know those with photos of myself and what I do daily when I was in school, but it pretty much died out in 2006. I then switched my attention to cars and bikes which I some how was interested in; I talked about anything from accessories, parts, insurance claims and where you could find the most expensive cars and bikes in the world.
I realized I had nothing more to talk about after only 4 months of blogging this, and so I closed down the site and started another niche on “money making” in March 2007. I made my decision to make this my last stop. I love to blog about money. I love money, money is sweet! Don’t you love them?
You have been blogging on ‘make money online’ for some time now. What has been your experience?
Blogging about “make money online” was a great opportunity to share my experiences with the crowd. I am very thankful to my readers who gave me a chance to hear my experience with this program and whether it is worth joining.
I just feel that most of the readers out there have given me support by either joining me in the same program (where we can continue with our cash quest) or leaving comments which I take very seriously. If I spot a constructive comment, I will try and address the reader’s issue in the next post.
Some words of advise for people looking at making money online?
Lets start from the Newbies who want a piece of the money pie. I came from the same environment too and making money online is definitely possible. Be it a website or just a blog, you will make money when there is traffic. Therefore focus on building your traffic and automatically revenues will start coming in.
Sometimes it’s not the money that plays the biggest part of one’s exciting experiences but it’s how you manage to drive that revenue to your pocket. Everyday you can learn a trick or two from many others online.
For bloggers who have blogs that they want to monetize, yet do not have any idea on how to do this, I have my recommended money maker programs and dummy guides listed on my blog’s sidebar. Make sure you read how you can join these programs to make money and the tips and tricks to create a more optimized ad. Did I say they are sure to make money?
Anything else you would like to say to our readers?
I do have a lot to say, but before I say anything I would want to hear from the readers what they would like to know about money making. You can always contact me at my Make Money Online blog. I will gladly answer all your mails within 48 hours.
I do have a mini-contest of cash prizes up for grabs and the deadline is 25th September 2007. Make sure you join in the fun and stand a chance to win prizes. There would be 5 winners!
Etienne Dot com is a blog that gives detailed money making and blogging tips and tricks. Full blog reviews are also done at a very affordable price. Contact Etienne if you need help or have queries on making money online. Best luck.
Thanks Etienne for sharing your views with the BlogMeCash.com members.

Posted by Satish TalimKingsley Willis currently works as a digital artist for Summit, a multimedia research lab in the Stanford School of Medicine. There he is heavily involved in teaching, web design, video editing, 3D design and animation, as well as print design.
His passions are deeply rooted in film. From an early age, he aspired to be a film director. Desiring to learn every aspect of production from lighting, shooting, editing, special effects and directing, he decided to major in Art History at Stanford University (class of 2001) to learn film theory and teach himself the practical and technical aspects of film by working at the student television studio and directing numerous short films both live action and computer generated.
I asked Kingsley to tell us something about his blog.
My blog started out as a personal holding tank for best practices, inspiration, tools, and tutorials related to film, visual effects, animation, games, and web design.
I wanted to remember how to do certain techniques, as well as review and bookmark helpful resources. As I continued, I realized it was also a helpful resource for others doing similar work. I had been blogging privately since March 2005 by sending myself emails with links, images, and other useful notes. I never looked at those emails again and they are only on my computer at work. So, on November 15th, 2005, I decided to launch a public version of these notes.
Since the launch I have had more than 100,000 page loads. My blog averaged 148 unique visitors per day in 2006. Today, I’m averaging 276 page loads. That said, most of the traffic is new visitors. However, there have been fewer returning visitors than I would like. Also, the users do not tend to stay very long on one page on average. I do try to write short posts, so that maybe a factor. In the beginning I got a lot of spam both through comments and trackbacks, so I turned them both off. I started requiring users to register, and starting September 4th, 2006 I now have 27 commentors registered. My goal is to build a community that shares information freely. I would like more page loads, sure, but also more returning visitors who comment.
I use Moveable Type blogging software to quickly create posts. My favorite feature is the “quickpost” feature which allows to save a bookmark to a script. When clicked, it copies whatever text you have highlighted on a particular page, and opens a new window with the text and the link to the page you were on. Other than that, I actually like Google’s Blogger from a maintenance standpoint. Moveable Type features a few too many oddly named templates to maintain and update. However, it gives you ultimate control over the look and feel, which I like.

Posted by Satish TalimAt The Critical Critics, visitors will find fun and most importantly, honest movie reviews of recent Hollywood releases. While other critics and review pages I’ve visited put more emphasis on playing nice with the major movie studios, The Critical Critics pride themselves by keeping their focus on you, the viewer. This allows for them to provide, without prejudice, unbiased and forthright reviews. I highly recommend seeking the opinions of their critics prior to your next family outing to the theaters. It’ll be the smartest decision you make!
